Increasing the use of renewable energy is one of the most important actions we as consumers can make to reduce carbon emissions. However, individual renewable energy purchases can be complicated, expensive, and risky. As a result, few consumers choose this option.   Municipalities can offer their residents an aggregation program that makes renewable energy easily available.  With this approach, the municipality is making a “group purchase” of electricity for the entire community which makes consumer access to renewable energy safe, convenient, and affordable.  In many cases, BOTH cost savings and increased renewable content can be realized simultaneously.  JCP&L continues to deliver electricity through their lines and bills consumers as they have in the past.  The only difference is the source of energy changes from primarily fossil fuels to include a significant percentage of solar and/or wind.   All eligible members of the community, as...
