Many complain how cars don't stop at intersections. We put up cones, and the police do periodic stings. But what about flags that other towns use. The pedestrian grabs a flag to slow traffic, and replaces the flag on the other side.
The Senior residents on Independence Way can't make a left turn onto S. Springfield Ave. There needs be cross-hatching to prevent cars that stop at the light to block the intersection. I know it's a County Road. But so what? It's more effort to make it happen, but that's our job.
Meisel Ave. & Riverside is another tough intersection. As is leaving the pool onto Morris Ave. Why can't we get a blinking red light? - even if it's only active during pool hours. Simple things that make sense.
The reason is always, "it's not us, it's the County", and yes, I understand the truth to that reality - but it doesn't mean we should throw up our hands and not try.
