Leaving leaves on the street for DPW pick-up is a great service that the town offers. But improvements can always be made.

People put piles out and leave them there for long periods of time because they don't know when the trucks will pick them up. In the meantime, the leaves blow back all over the neighbors' property. Why not have a specific schedule for specific streets, similar to bulk-pick-up? Each street can have 2 or 3 pick-ups(??).

Then in the last week of the service, it can be a free-for all, where all left over leaves can be put out and the DPW would do a town-wide sweep. At this point, it would just be small amounts of left-overs.
