During my time in Switzerland I took advantage of Ludoteques to take my son to play during the harsh winter weather. This indoor playrooms were free and full of toys and board games for kids of all ages -- small kids were accompanied by adults (this is not a day care, just a space with free toys and games)--. This might be done within the Montclair Public Library or in any other space and maybe more than one in town.
