73 Pine Street Community Garden needs your help! We are located in one of the most economically challenged neighborhoods in Montclair. We do not have much green space around and our urban garden has become the center of our community. We grow veggies, share them, screen movies, and have art events. We want to continue improving the quality of life of our low income families and making organic food affordable for all. Since the closing of Pathmark at Lackawanna Plaza in November of 2015 many of our neighbors and families have been suffering in silence with a lack of access to adequate and consistently available healthy food. Feeling powerless they have been simply quietly struggling to “make do”. Last year we initiated an urban sidewalk garden and a tote bag container garden for our neighbors.
