We should be doing everything we can to make our parks as appealing as possible in Montclair. We already spend money to maintain and improve them so it is logical to be looking for new and innovative ways to do this. One way to improve the overall appeal of our parks is to create free WiFi in them. New York City is creating WiFi hotspots in their parks and Montclair should join them as a regional leader in this aspect. Let’s be honest-the Internet is a necessity for most people nowadays to get the work they need to do done. If people can access the Internet in the outdoors, then why wouldn’t they sit in the park? WiFi could be set up at one or two parks and then expansion could be worked out based on its success or failure.
